PKSV Sagar, a top official from Delhi Capitals (DC), shared a huge update on Rishabh Pant, that the wicketkeeper-batter will take part in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). The youngster has been out of action since December 2022 after a near-fatal car accident. He has been making a remarkable recovery after undergoing surgery. Since joining DC in 2016, Pant has accumulated 2,838 runs in 98 matches at an average of 34.61 and a strike rate above 147, including a century and 15 fifties.

Earlier in November, Pant had attended DC's camp in Kolkata, which was also attended by support staff including director of cricket Sourav Ganguly, head coach Ricky, and assistant coach Pravin Amre. The 26-year-old was then involved in the discussions regarding the retention and release of players of the mini-auction. Sagar stated that the team is hoping for Pant's return and it would make a huge impact for them in the forthcoming season.

"Yes, we are hoping for the best we can expect that he will play this season. He is the biggest player.....if he plays then it will be good for us. Our coaches and physio are doing work on him and the best part is that he is recovering very well. We hope by March he will fit and play for us," Sagar was quoted as saying by NDTV on the sidelines of the ILT20 2024.

GMR Group, owners of DC have a team named Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 which is captained by Australian legend David Warner. While speaking about roping Warner, Sagar said, "Yes we added David Warner this year to our ILT 20 franchise and we wish that his presence can make many things good in the team."

DC bought Harry Brook for INR 4 crore along with Jhye Richardson (INR 5 crore) and Shai Hope (INR 75 lakh) during the mini-aution held in Dubai. They have also acquired the services of Kumar Kushagra for a whopping INR 7.2 crore to bolster their squad and stage a stunning comeback to the tournament.

"Yes we do work on that we want Harry Brook to come and play for us in the middle order and we made our team strong by adding Kushagra," Sagar added.
