Legendary Australia spinner Brad Hogg feels that Hardik Pandya won't be a loss for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Hardik led the Titans to their first IPL title in their inaugural season in 2022 and guided the team to become the runners-up in the 2023 edition.

Meanwhile, he was signed by Mumbai Indians (MI) in a high-profile trade ahead of the 2024 IPL. In a recent video posted on his YouTube channel, the former cricketer stated that Hardik is a quality all-rounder in the middle-order but the Titans are better off with him.

"I don't think Hardik Pandya is that big a loss really (for GT). Yes, he is a quality all-rounder in the middle order, but they can cover it. They have got really good bowling depth there. He was batting in the top order, but I don't think he was best suited there, so Gujarat Titans are better off without him," Hogg said.

He further stated that Hardik's services could be a big asset for the five-time champions.

"Mumbai are better off having an Indian all-rounder batting in the lower middle order and I think that's where Hardik will bat. I think we will see Hardik back at his best with Mumbai Indians," the former cricketer added.

Hardik joined the MI camp ahead of the IPL 2024 starting on March 22. The curtain raiser will be played between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and three-time finalists Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

In a video posted by MI's official social media handle, the star all-rounder was seen entering the team's dressing room and doing a pooja along with head coach Mark Boucher. For the unreversed, Hardik is set to lead Mumbai, replacing Rohit Sharma, who has captained the side since the inception of the lucrative league.
